With this Lynx, a subspecies of the Bobcat, Susan captures that moment of respite as she is just beginning to change her color and depth of fur for winter. For soon her large white paws will fill with snow and ice making them work like snowshoes, as her green eyes will seem to disappear under thick gray fur shows for this cat is a prime example of animals that adapt to extreme changes brought on by long hard harsh.
